Hockey is a really tough competitive sport, coming from a long tradition and offering plenty of action, which has already won thirteen medals for Germany at Olympic Games so far. In 2016, the national men’s team will have the chance of winning gold for the third consecutive time – something few other teams have managed to do at the Olympics, apart from the US basketball team. A disaster is looming, however: hockey could be dropped altogether from the Olympic Games as of 2020, leaving it to wither and fade altogether from the public eye.

To prevent this from happening, our crowdfunded project is setting out to produce a passionate documentary about field hockey. And for that we need you and your support!

The film will be all about the German national women’s and men’s teams, which we will be following exclusively as they prepare for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

Never before has there been a film about the German hockey scene. “Ecke, Schuss - Gold! – Unsere Hockeyhelden rackern für Rio” (Corner, Shot – Gold! — Our Hockey Heroes Slave away for Rio) is going to change all that. We will be in close contact with the players, following them as they move to and fro between their everyday lives and professional sports, between success and defeat, and telling the story of the game of hockey using exciting images and inspiring protagonists.
